About the Other Works...

While I am working on the larger, more complex works of any series, I often stop to do smaller, carefully observed perceptual drawings of objects near at hand--- fruit, flowers, plants, common household objects. This activity sharpens my perceptual abilities, reinforces rendering skills, and expands my technical facility within any given medium by offering the advantage of working directly and immediately from life without the complex considerations of the larger scale works. These drawings may be done in many different media, including soft pastel, oil pastel, charcoal, watercolor, oil.
